Doing things for the benefit of others. Giving a helping hand. That, above all things, makes us human, that capacity for being good.
It seems however, we show true altruism in large numbers only in the time of distress: natural disasters, wars etc. Thereafter we go back to our regular, somewhat selfish same same. And we should not. It does help the giver as well. And when we do help, we should not expect anything in return or do it for marketing purposes. That destroys the whole concept of altruism. It sometimes bites us in the rear as we help the wrong people, but that's on them. Let's continue be good, rather than bitter.
Daily thoughts on life, events, world and travel. Life is much more than sitting in a room and look at the screen. Instead of hitting search button, let us actually physically search and explore. And who knows, maybe we'll learn something.
